ReadBoard privacy

Effective 6 October 2026. ReadBoard is a product by WD DIGI. Contact support@wddigi.com.

Articles and notes

The extension captures text from the active page only after you choose a capture action. The captured preview is temporary; save or discard it. Saved articles, selected excerpts, source URLs, titles, available author/date metadata, highlights, notes, reading status, position, collections and study packs are stored in IndexedDB in your Chrome profile. Preferences and a last-view pointer are stored locally. They are not synchronized to a cloud account.

Article scripts, images, frames and other remote resources are removed. Reading saved text does not load the original site's resources. The Free extension does not make network requests. Opening an original source, help link or support page in a browser tab is your choice and is governed by that website's policy.

Limited use

ReadBoard complies with the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. Page text and source metadata are used only for the reading, annotation and export features you choose. We do not sell this data, use it for advertising or credit decisions, or allow people at WD DIGI to read your saved articles and notes. They are not transmitted to us. Support information you choose to send is used to handle your request.

Permissions

activeTab grants temporary access when you invoke ReadBoard; scripting extracts text from that selected page; storage holds local preferences, a view pointer and future license state. There are no automatic all-site content scripts, browsing-history permission or background collection of pages. Incognito is disabled.

Exports and retention

Exports are local downloads initiated by you. Backup JSON and Markdown/plain-text exports are not encrypted. Keep them private and use a trusted viewer. ReadBoard keeps saved data until you delete it, remove the Chrome profile or uninstall the extension. Chrome may clear local data. Export a complete backup before uninstalling or changing profiles. Uninstalling is not a backup method.

Future paid activation

Sales and license activation are disabled in Free 1.0.0. Once configured, Lynk.id or Gumroad will handle checkout under their own privacy policies. Activation and periodic validation will send a license code/key, installation identifier and signed license token to readboard.wddigi.com. Article bodies, highlights, notes and backups are excluded. One browser profile per license is planned, with a signed offline receipt valid for up to 14 days. Revoked or refunded licenses can lose Pro access; existing readings, notes and basic exports remain accessible.

The optional Lynk.id claim page sends receipt REF ID and checkout email using a secure POST request to find a fulfilled order and return an activation code. These values are not put in URLs or persisted by the page. Fulfillment records may retain an email lookup hash, provider order reference and license status to support purchases. Gumroad keys are verified with the provider. Lynk.id refunds require WD DIGI to revoke the license; periodic validation then applies the change.

Website and support

The public website has no advertising trackers or analytics scripts. Cloudflare hosts it and may process ordinary network logs for delivery and security. WD DIGI receives information you choose to email for support. Do not send private articles, full license keys or payment-card details. Purchase records needed for fulfillment, fraud prevention and applicable obligations may be retained. Request assistance with access or deletion at the support address.
