READBOARD / COMPATIBILITY
Know what will save.
Chrome 120+ desktop. Incognito is disabled. ReadBoard captures normal HTTP/HTTPS pages after you invoke it. Chrome settings, Chrome Web Store pages, PDF viewers, local files and protected content are unsupported. It does not bypass paywalls or access controls.
Text, with a useful structure
ReadBoard preserves paragraphs, headings, lists, quotes, code and table text. Images, original colors, inline formatting, frames, forms, scripts and interactive widgets are omitted. Complex tables and dynamic applications may extract imperfectly. Always inspect the preview; selected text is the fallback.
Bounded capture
- Up to 12,000 document elements, 3 MiB raw HTML and 2 MiB cleaned capture text/markup.
- Maximum 256 KiB per serialized saved article, including highlights and notes; 200 highlights, quote up to 6,000 characters and note up to 4,000 characters.
- Free library: 30 readings. Future Pro: 500 readings. Shared serialized dataset budget: 100 MiB; browser quota may be lower. A larger captured body is rejected without silently truncating it.
- Complete backup input: 110 MiB maximum, validated against the 100 MiB dataset budget and record limits. Up to 50 collections and 100 saved packs; 10 sources per pack.
Changing tabs, windows or the source document during capture discards that attempt. Captures are temporary and must be claimed within three minutes. Worker restarts can also discard a pending preview. Click again if necessary.
Saved versions
The original source link and available publication metadata remain alongside the capture date. A source without a known publication date is not assigned an invented one. Saving the same source and text opens the existing snapshot; changed text becomes a separate version.
